i found this book a little boring its a bit too old fashioned for me and i didnt find it very amusing i would say greg wise was exceptionally good reading this story though
Utterly captivating and beautifully read. Thank you!
Oh my gosh, this was amazing!! I am in love with the BBC production of this as well. Please please PLEASE do the whole of this book as an audio book...I'd buy it right now if it was available!! Greg wise reads with so much passion and as soon as he started reading, I was instantly transfixed and enveloped in the scene! Tip: Listen to this with Claire de Lune by Debussy in the background - it's heavenly and adds a whole new dimension to it. It's like the music was made for this extract.
I agree with Hannah. This is the best bit of one of my all time favourite books. I also loved the 1995 BBC production starring Ciaran Hinds as Wentworth and amanda Root as Anne Elliot which is perfection itself.
This is one of my favourite books. I have read it so many times and it was lovely to have someone else read it to me. Greg Wise reads with so much feeling and that passage has to be the best bit of the book! I'd love to hear him read the whole thing!
